Je l’ai déjà plusieurs fois expliqué, mais le quotidien d’un freelance n’est jamais évident. Le mois de janvier est, je trouve, le pire. Les après-fêtes ne sont jamais faciles d’un point de vue professionnel. Le début d’année est généralement synonyme de validation de budgets, dont celui de la communication. Alors forcément, nous autres rédacteurs web SEO, nous tirons un peu… beaucoup la langue ! Les commandes arrivent au compte-gouttes et cela peut être un peu décourageant.
S’il vous plaît, soyez positifs !
Je suis intimement persuadée que le positif attire le positif ! De grâce, cessez de tirer des constats de ma vie, de ma réussite professionnelle. « Tu es exploitée ! », « Mon Dieu, moi, je ne pourrais pas ainsi dépendre du bon vouloir des clients », « Tu dépenses tellement d’énergie par rapport à ce que tu touches à la fin du mois ! ». Je vous livre, ici, un condensé des réflexions auxquelles je dois faire face régulièrement. J’ai bien conscience que mon entourage ne pense pas toujours à mal. Toutefois, même si ces phrases ne se veulent pas méchantes, elles laissent des traces. Pas sur mon enthousiasme, mais sur l’estime et la confiance que j’ai en moi. Un auto-entrepreneur est obligé de tenir sa comptabilité à jour. Par conséquent, oui, je vois bien que mon chiffre d’affaires ne va pas encore concurrencer ce mois-ci le PIB des USA ! J’ai bien conscience, également, que j’ai divisé par 4 le salaire que je percevais auparavant dans mon ancien poste de Responsable de Secteur. En contrepartie, je pourrais :
- vous expliquer le bonheur que j’ai à interagir avec mes clients ;
- essayer de vous montrer la fierté qui est la mienne quand sur les 85 derniers textes que j’ai livrés, aucun ne m’a été retourné pour retouches ;
- partager avec vous les messages de satisfaction qui me sont adressés par mes donneurs d’ordres, car ils ont été conquis par mes qualités rédactionnelles ou que j’ai pu livrer avant la date butoir un texte extrêmement urgent.
Alors oui, je le sais ! Je suis toute seule à rédiger, de ce fait, j’ai une capacité rédactionnelle restreinte. Il y a ainsi peu de chance que je puisse de nouveau faire sourire mon banquier lorsqu’il verra arriver mon salaire. Néanmoins, je suis tellement riche sans que vous le perceviez réellement. Pourquoi ? Parce que j’ai eu le courage de quitter un job très bien payé pour assouvir ma passion ! Parce qu’il n’y a pas plus belle récompense à mes yeux que de voir mes textes apparaître un à un sur la toile. Parce que je suis intimement persuadée que le travail paie toujours et que des partenariats à long terme vont m’être proposés.

Oui, remercier ses clients peut paraître surprenant, mais à mon sens, c’est important qu’ils sachent le réel bonheur que j’éprouve à chaque fois qu’ils me confient une mission. Pour moi, cela représente tellement plus qu’un texte à rédiger ! C’est tout d’abord la reconnaissance plus ou moins explicite de mon expertise métier, de mes qualités rédactionnelles. C’est aussi pour moi un nouveau coup de boost ! Chaque commande me fait l’effet d’une confirmation que ce choix de l’entrepreneuriat est le bon. Puis, il y a aussi cette possibilité qui m’est faite de pouvoir assouvir ma passion et cela… ça vaut tout l’or du monde.
À chaque fois que l’on me confie un nouveau sujet de rédaction, c’est une invitation au voyage de l’écriture qui m’est permise. Certains ont besoin de prendre l’avion pour s’évader, moi, il me suffit de saisir mon stylo pour accéder à un autre monde. Grâce aux mots, sans bouger de mon siège, je peux de plus transporter mes lecteurs et leur donner la possibilité d’accéder à des domaines facilement. C’est sans doute pour cela, par exemple, que je ne refuse jamais une commande client touchant à l’univers du voyage, à la mise en avant d’un hôtel, d’un restaurant ou alors d’un pays. J’adore cela et je suis persuadée que cela se ressent dans mes écrits. Rien que pour cela, je suis la femme la plus riche du monde !
Ce que j’espère dans un avenir plus ou moins proche !
Je ne suis pas une personne gourmande, du moins je ne le pense pas ! C’est d’ailleurs pour cela que bien souvent, j’accepte des missions qui ne sont pas suffisamment rémunérées. Naïvement, je me dis que, certes, le prix proposé ne couvrira sans doute pas mes frais fixes journaliers, mais sans doute le client n’a pas les moyens et a cruellement besoin de ce contenu pour essayer de faire décoller son activité. Je n’oublie jamais qu’il fut un temps, j’ai été à sa place ! Peut-être que lorsqu’il aura percé, n’oubliera-il pas qu’un jour, je lui ai tendu la main et me renverra-t-il ainsi l’ascenseur.
J’aimerais sincèrement pouvoir trouver un nouveau partenaire pour une mission longue durée. Cela manque cruellement à mon arc. J’ai, en effet, très envie de m’essayer à une rédaction de plusieurs articles répondant à une même ligne éditoriale. Mon rêve serait de pouvoir me voir confier toute une campagne sur le même thème. J’avoue, en effet, sans rougir, que rédiger chaque jour sur des thèmes différents est, certes intéressant, mais très souvent aussi source de fatigue.
